Choose a sports bra by how it fits, how you put it on and what the individual product says about support. A zip-front style opens at the front; a pullover style goes over your head. Neither a zipper nor a high neckline alone tells you how much support a bra provides. Use this guide to compare the details before choosing a size.
Start with the closure
A front zipper changes the way you get dressed: you can open the garment rather than pull a closed band over your shoulders. When trying it on, check that the zipper closes without forcing it, stays flat and does not press uncomfortably against your skin. A pullover has no front zipper to fasten, but you should be able to get it on and off comfortably.
Compare neckline and back design separately
Closure, neckline and back shape are different features. A zip-front bra can also have a racerback, so “zip-front versus racerback” is not a like-for-like comparison. A high neckline offers more front coverage, while the back design affects how straps sit under your clothing. Choose the combination that works with your tops and feels comfortable when you move your arms.
Check support claims before choosing an activity
Look for an explicit support description on the product page. Do not assume that a close fit, removable padding or a racerback automatically means high support. If a listing describes light support, do not treat it as a verified high-impact running bra. If the support level is not stated, ask before buying rather than relying on the photograph.
Use measurements, not just a familiar size letter
Our sports bra size options run from S to 2X, but those labels are not a universal cup-and-band conversion. Compare your measurements with a product-specific chart when one is available. If the listing has no measurements, contact Better Sport for size advice before ordering. Avoid choosing from another brand’s chart as though it were a guaranteed match.
During a fit check, make sure the band sits evenly, the fabric covers as intended and the straps do not dig in. Raise your arms and move gently to check for shifting, gaping or uncomfortable pressure. A fit that feels wrong should not be dismissed simply because the label is your usual size.
Compare two styles in our collection
Start with the WANAYOU black and grey zip-front two-pack if you want to compare front-opening styles. For a high-neck option, see the PINSPARK high-neck racerback sports bra. Check each listing’s fabric, care and support information; the two products should not be assumed to offer identical performance.
Before you order
Confirm the size, number of pieces, closure, stated support and washing instructions. For a two-pack, check whether the fabric composition differs between colours. Follow the individual care label rather than assuming every sports bra can be washed the same way.
